The YAMAHA YFL 887 Custom flute offers immense playing freedom and remarkable musical expression. Ideal for passionate enthusiasts, professionals, and advanced students.

Made in Japan, the flutes from the 887 range stand out for their solid silver construction, providing precise sound and exceptional projection. The headjoints, tubes, and concert mechanics are all made of solid silver, ensuring unparalleled sound quality.

Welded tone holes and flat edges guarantee optimal balance and perfect homogeneity in the middle and low registers. Notes are centered with ideally calibrated air resistance, offering unparalleled sound flexibility. These flutes don't impose their sound on you; they give you the freedom to color it as desired.

The innovative key design was conceived to offer the most natural finger positioning. Each key has been designed and placed ergonomically, ensuring touch and playing comfort that allows for total immersion in the music. Hand-assembled keys and their meticulous balancing offer flawless playing precision.

White gold springs provide a quick response and a feeling of lightness, thus facilitating musical interpretation. Each adjustment and finish is carried out with artisanal meticulousness, reflecting Yamaha's commitment to excellence.

The "A" type headjoint allows musicians to easily produce a rich and colorful sound over a wide dynamic range. Thanks to the Straubinger pads, compared to traditional felt and cardboard pads, frequent adjustments are avoided. These pads offer increased resistance to environmental variations and guarantee optimal performance over a much longer period.

The B footjoint is available on all models, thus improving the response of the C 3rd octave. Moreover, engineers have designed a unique new design for the C# and D# keys for optimal ergonomics, regardless of the footjoint's use.

The advantages of these handmade Yamaha flutes are numerous: remarkable manufacturing quality, consistent regularity in each instrument, meticulous finish, and a sound that is constantly evolving compared to the previous version.

However, some points still need improvement to compete with artisanal competitors, especially in terms of mechanics that could be optimized for usage duration. Although the sound is already very beautiful, some musicians point out that it could still gain depth and emotion.
