With a bell diameter of approximately 8.66 inches (220 mm) and a thickness of 0.022 inches (0.55 mm), and a bore size of about 0.551 inches (14 mm), this instrument produces a vibrant, orchestral sound while remaining light and compact in 'fortissimo' passages. It is perfectly suited for soloists, offering remarkable softness and warmth in gentle notes.

The valve section is an original SCHAGERL design, providing exceptional intonation and fluidity. The valve travel distance has been shortened, making it quick and light. The slide is slightly wider than usual, akin to that of a bass trombone, which gives a compact and warm sound.

The SCHAGERL Fontana Bb/F Tenor Trombone is a versatile instrument, also suitable for jazz playing. Many renowned trombonists have already tried it and are thrilled with its performance.
